I am no coder but here is a proposal: imagine a post that starts with a special string that would not get published globally but that, followed by an identifier, gets fetched by apps that use that identifier. Of course I imagine this could be an app/webapp implementation issue, but would be more cleanly implemented directly in the protocol.
