Since the USA has resigned its exalted position as defacto leader of the free world, I propose EU and the Commonwealth form a new democratic alliance to fill in that void. A multicultural organization with human rights as its foundation would likely attract even more democrstic countries joining.

India and South Africa will need to choose whether they want to be shackled to the BRICS totalitarian alliance or change their ways and join a democratic alliance and trade group.
