when Malaya incorporates Sabah & Sarawak, it gave the people the same rights as a Malayan to vote.
the same can be said about Cocos Island when Australia annexed it.
and virtually almost all nations has the same practice
i just found out that basically america has 5 states where its people has no rights to choose the presidents
