Each building was constructed in a poor-growth area, more or less barren of flora, and any that was removed had to be redistributed and planted in the surrounding landscape. Equal distribution without loss.
The buildings themselves were the best part though. They were constructed from a fibrous resin of plant DNA. Think about the veins of a leaf, but the fibrous coating was multi-layered, each layer of two, perpendicular to the one below. Then the next two shifted 30° and so on, so the grains ended up like a 6 pointed star. This was repeated until you had a thick enough wall for bearing weight. 2/3
