I really like this idea of Judith Butlers that we shouldn’t let trauma we associate with a specific group blind us into generalizing about the whole group. They use it in reference to JK Rowling hating men because she was SA’d by a man and her trauma about that leads her to villainize all men including trans women.
I have always tried to allow the good in groups to be how I see them. It’s why I’ve never hated Christian’s despite them giving me every reason too.
