And as him, so should other individual developers, non-profit projects, AND startups should have the right to make use of copyrighted works for purposes which are not directly for profit. Extracting rents from any company or project just because it uses copyrighted work for training AI material is extorsion. I totally agree with the article published by EFF. It makes absolutely valid points from the point of view of those who want to contribute to the advancement of art and science without kicking the ladder for smaller players.
