That's also why the (big) media continue loosing the influence/trust. No politician nor DSA will change that. Also for the important stuff, some kind of decentralized social media (protocol) will take over because in the end Twitter will be regulated to death. The incentives for the states are too big and they will just pile regulation on regulation until the platform stops being usable.
Decentralized protocols like torrent, bitcoin and maybe nostr are unkillable. Govts will have to go after the users. AI might help with that, but users will adapt fast.
I think that in the end any state eventually turns authoritarian, because the good times don't last forever. So the only hope for freedom is technology that enables an individual to hide from govt and run circles around it when needed.
