There will be more coming out regarding damage to body systems for long-term users of this medication. While it’s not very common, we do have people coming into the emergency department with serious side effects of Ozempic. A very fit, wealthy, healthy woman came in and couldn’t understand why her blood pressure was suddenly through the roof when it had always been normal. She was complaining about the 10 pounds that she’s gained since menopause and how she can’t get it off. She finally admitted to starting Ozempic and it was the determined cause of her blood pressure issue. All medications have side effects. I do see benefits outweighing risks persons whose morbid obesity and severe food addiction has ruined their quality of life or is going to.
