Sleep deprivation is one of the unhealthiest issues many educators face. It's not just about the lack of exercise, cafeteria food, and limited sunlight, though each of those contribute as well.
Many teachers and support staff spend countless hours every week, often late into the night, early mornings, or even during school holidays, grading papers, creating lessons, catching up on the mountains of paperwork assigned by head office, or brainstorming how to differentiate lessons for their neurodivergent and special needs students.
Modern education shouldn't treat educators this way, but we're often given the ultimatum to work non-stop or quit.
