Resources and energy spent on warfare could be better utilized to meet people's basic needs. 3. War is a tool used by states to control populations, spreading nationalism and xenophobia. 4. War is a consequence of capitalist competition and imperialism, where states expand their influence and control over resources and markets through military force.
