Inasmuch as I'm glad that the editorial staff of the NYT are finally waking up to the fact that Trump and the MAGA wing of the GOP have functionally called for their murders for the last 12 years plus, it would be nice if this sudden fit of pique could carry on into their proper news section, where they persist in treating the insurrectionists on an even footing with those who have insisted upon the rule of law.
Plus, to declare Trump the sole and singular figure in the obliteration of democracy in the United States is to ignore the multitudinous Republicans working in the various offices attempting to do just that, chief amongst which include Greg Abbott of Texas and Ron DeSantis of Florida. Trump does not exist in a vacuum, and while he goes out of his way to flout social mores in the most ridiculous fashion he can, he's hardly alone in flouting the political ones.
