I'm not sure what lists you're talking about, but if it's like "all time bestsellers" in terms of number of copies, I think a lot of those would be Hindi pulp authors for which there is definitely no reliable data. We tried to ballpark the number of novels Surender Mohan Pathak had sold back in 2010 and we got something like 25 million but that's a very rough number.
