Folks should have seen this coming. Dropbox should have. Dropbox dreamers should have. Nobody in their right mind puts all their data on someone else's computers as a storage strategy. Unless you don't have much data, and in which case, use a thumb drive or an external drive as well. Heck when I was doing a lot of photography I was burning photoshoots onto DVDs as backup, knowing that those media wouldn't last more than a few decades. Dropbox is just another home-burned DVD solution. You're going to have to transition from it, probably before you'd like, so you shouldn't rely on it.
