I can now say I've read "Are You There God? It's Me, Margaret." I see what all the hype is about. It's a shame (though not hard to believe) so many schools have tried to ban this book. I admired how the book presented the ways an intelligent pre-teen might think about religion and puberty, how it's too easy to buy into rumors. Puberty can be pretty stressful, and sometimes a little scary, and the book acknowledges that.
