The debate on assisted dying is fraught, but up to now the role of palliative care seems underplayed, both in the freedom to demand an assisted death whether we should also have the freedom to demand better care in the last stages of our natural lives.
I find myself pro-choice on assisted dying but equally pro-choice on the provision of palliative care (currently constrained by austerity & budget cuts). Care needs to continue to the end!
