Occasionally someone might ask me or Parakeet what tools we use to make what we do, and I think there’s often a hidden assumption that software is doing the heavy-lifting, that the software could be more responsible for the output than we are.

It’s not a hammer that makes a house. The best tools are our brains. Many people use the same software we do but have wildly different results. There’s no reason to believe using the same software we do will net you something that looks like our results.
