the casio gwm5610 is a #bitcoiners watch:
- performs time synchronization with the closest global atomic clock signal every night; if the sync fails, it tries again every few minutes (proof-of-work)
the correct time is verified to the second
- atomic time keeping is more or less decentralized, given that there are 6 signals broadcasted globally (casio calls it multiband 6)
- while achieving time-verification, it is completely air-gapped; no wifi compatibility, no bluetooth, not even NFC
this thing’s more air-gapped than a #coldcard
- takes unused solar polar and converts it to power via its solar cells
- like bitcoin, it does basically one thing, and one thing only;
tells the time.
after all, isn’t #bitcoin just one giant decentralized #clock?
