They hid behind an utility box and bullets hitting the ground near them . They saw a taxi dropping off a fare and jumped and told the driver what was happening. He took them to a hotel near the airport where they spent the night. Early morning they went back to Mandalay to grab their luggage. Lobby was full of bloody towels. They got their stuff and no one was there from police/FBI.
