Just an FYI, Aral does have a point when it comes to point out the state of a11y, but this entire article (and the discourse that lead up to it, which he conveniently "forgot" to mention), is that he spent weeks on a ragebait campaign against the mostly volunteer developers and maintainers of the Linux distributions and desktop environment projects.

Myself being included in this article as the "patches welcome" guy, I'm a volunteer, and have been dealing with his rage comments and refusal of collaborating on what exactly has been "broken" for at least a couple of months before getting tired of it and replying with it.
