Much like the pandemic, the sewing hobby is still going strong - I’ve been making about 90% of my family’s clothes ever since. I can’t look at a garment without estimating how long it would take me to make it, and then how long it would take a team of skilled sewists to make a whole batch of the garment in question. *It never pencils out.* Someone, either on the textile side or the construction side, is always getting slave wages. Clothing really is one of those “there’s no ethical consumption under capitalism” necessities of life.
