I've long been working toward that... and then I kept getting promoted up the engineering ladder.
The problem I see, though, is that you STILL need your talented developers/programmers. You just don't need as many. AI does a pretty shitty job of coding but it does a GREAT job of code reviews and a good developer can be really good and really fast without waiting for a team to do reviews. It's like next-level linting.
