Would it? Signal doesn't require their users to save private keys "somewhere safe" nor do other apps using the Signal.protoocl.

It is a lot of work that can't be done overnight. And I rather wait longer to have a decent implementation, rather than the devs rushing it out. I am not a cryptographer nor a real developer - so please take my attitude with a grain of salt (hah!).
