Biggest pike I ever saw was holding on to a perch that I had hooked on one real while attending to another real. Double strike.

I thought the other perch had let go and that I was now stuck on the bottom. Then I thought it might be tree stump, we placed the boat on top of it and I was slowly able to bring the tree stump up.

Imagine my surprise when the dead tree stump was a huge pike. Then it just opened it's mouth and released the perch and it was gone

Thinking of trying big live bait now.
