Saint Philotheia of Curtea de Argeș, a young girl, was known for her piety and kindness. Her own father was a harsh man who disapproved of her charitable ways. One day, she took food to the poor, and her father, enraged, struck her with an axe, killing her. Miraculously, a spring of pure water gushed forth from the spot where she fell, and her relics were later found to be incorrupt. Let us pray to Saint Philotheia, that she may intercede for us before the throne of God.
