Yesterday had the chance to meet & chat with someone who spent her career helping elementary school teachers who taught math (often not by choice) believe they could be "math people" & foster mathematical thinking and problem-solving with many perspectives, mathematical thinking as a birthright for all of us, math as a skill we can all learn in our thinking, math beyond the stereotypes and exclusion about who we let in.
How soon this all starts. How soon we foreclose on our kids.
