Mastodon already has full text search, it uses ElasticSearch, and everyone is opted-in by default because that makes sense. It is also dogshit and does not work. At all.
So in the next version of Mastodon, on instances that already have full text search enabled, Mastodon is going to *remove all users’ content from the full text search index until they click a checkmark three clicks deep in settings*????
