OK, here's one concrete way the internet has improved my life: When I need to assemble documents like W-2s and Pay stubs and whatever, it's a matter of logging in to a couple of websites. No more digging through drawers and finding every W2 except the one I need, then running around the house looking everywhere and finally making a phone call to ask if they can mail me a new one in 5 to 7 business days
