New feature for #inkscape based on the ideas by Maren and ju jumo, I've coded a "chameleon fill" function which fills any shape with the average color of what is behind it.

In this example image you can see what happens when you make a triangle mesh using the Voronoi Diagram extension then the new Chameleon Fill button in the fill and stroke dialog to fill all the triangles with a single flat color per shape.
