Mass Reduction Log
Week 2 Summary
Mass 109 kg
No significant change.
Daily target of 2000 kcal
08 - 3060
09 - 2226
10 - 2829
11 - 2319
12 - 3075
13 - 1631
14 - 2803
Average - 2563 kcal per day
---Notes---
I have been eating too much (as usual). I have not stayed focused on controlling my intake. Exercise isn't the problem, I simply eat too much overall and certainly too much desserts.
Self-control is important but to be sustainable I think I need to move beyond self control to a level of normality where I eat what I need without excess, where my life does not revolve around food, where I focus my time on other things and eat when I *need* to.
I find that overeating is a massive waste of money and time: Money I spend on food I don't need, time I spend trying to lose the weight I gain, and time I spend thinking and stressing about it (like this post).
A lot of the calories this week have been from sugar/desserts that were entirely unnecessary. Short term thinking / instant gratification kind of stuff.
Plans:
1. I will spend more time building for myself and my family in any way I can. Staying busy keeps me mentally healthy and keeps me from mindlessly eating.
2. Try this: I will create a list of things to do if I am feeling bored. There is always good work to be done for the family and for the home (fix something, balance budget, look for new job opportunities, do something for someone else, etc). I will refer to this list when I feel lost.
3. Think of ways to politely reject desserts/overeating, to reject sweets from daily life - like "sugar is poison" or "every dessert is one less day of life in the end" and similar themes. It's dark, but preventing early death is a good motivator, and in this case, much like alcohol, is likely true.
4. Target for week 3 is less than 1800 calories per day with less than 100 g carbs per day. Drink lots of water.
