There's been a predictably ill-informed and disingenuous chorus of pearl-clutching about the decriminalisation of drug possession (small amounts) in the ACT which comes into force this weekend.
This is one of the stupidest I've seen:
"Business owners [are] asking 'what's going to happen if someone who is under the influence of drugs comes into my premises? And what rights do I have to protect my staff and my business place if this happens'," Ms Lee said."
Of course, business owners will have exactly the same rights to refuse entry and the same responsibilities to refuse service as they do now.
