Last night I was fretting about the beds and weeding, and some misfiring amaranth, and 2 hedges I won't get to before the guests arrive, and worst of all some clashing pinks! And an old friend who has known me since high school rolled her eyes and said no one, but no one, will ever notice. No one, so just stop it. Then (her Mama is a psychologist) she suggested that while I work I hum "Gay Land-scaping Eyes" to the tune of Bette Davis Eyes, to remind myself to laugh. You know what, it works.
