Not having global is not so much about protection but just better UX. If we design our discovery experience well and have means to uncover topics and find new people, there’s really no need for global.
It IS nice to see other languages in the same place to get a feel for who is using nostr, but otherwise it’s an unfiltered fire hose that doesn’t provide much value to anyone. New users see it as garbage and established users don’t need it.
