I don’t know how I know things, I just do. My brother and the two dopey floor sweepers were trying to get these big ass 1 1/4” nuts on the keel bolts of some pos to turn so we can get the boat in the shop. They had a 6” ratchet extension, taking turns pulling on it, even tried knocking on it with a puny handheld impact driver. I reminded them this is why we have a 36” ratchet extension. They were all excited until I showed it to them, they thought I meant a big ass ratchet. Twenty minutes arguing with me that torque is unaffected by extension length and what they needed was a longer handle. Refused to even try until I got up there and started monkey fucking around, banging on shit, swearing. I was still too small, but my brother didn’t have to try all that hard, maybe 2/3 the effort he was putting into the short extension, it caught him off guard for the first one, all 6 nuts broken in under a minute. “How do you know that stuff?”
