About 23 years ago, I got to a point in my job where I felt like that guy from Office Space—I had been hypnotized and never properly awakened from it, so I just didn’t care anymore. This lasted for a while, but then I started contributing to open source software, & I began to care again.

After being laid off in late 2023, I arrived at this same point; I no longer cared. In the past few weeks, I’ve forced myself to dust off my open source packages & update them, & I’ve found myself caring again.
