It became hypocritical to become a white supremacist while watching the numerous neat animes that made you see Japanese people as real humans. So, they're spared from the usual racist bullshit of Asian cuisine being disgusting and the people acting weird.
Same shit happened with the Italians, who used to be seen as nonwhite until people actually tried their cuisine.
