Kind of a two party system I guess. You can chose to change the channel, but doesn’t mean cable has to pull the shitty propoganda “news” show. If it’s truly vile/spam/bots, all the major relays would block it for the global feed but if it’s just shit-posting you don’t want to see your local block feature would stop it. I can live with that for now. There may always be censor-less relays (local laws dictating of course) but you also don’t have to link to them either as plenty of paid/semi-managed premium relays will be available too.
