H.R. 8500, the "Supreme Court Tenure Establishment and Retirement Modernization Act of 2022," would limit the normal tenure of a Supreme Court Justice to 18 years, without requiring a constitutional amendment. Today, the bill has only eight co-sponsors. Why so few? This seems to me to be totally reasonable solution to one of the more significant issues with our democracy's governance.
