"Why not just run an emulator?"

Because I want my vintage/retro experiences to be as far away from my modern computer as possible. That's why. Offline, intentional, and contemplative.

There's nothing wrong with emulation if you're into it. But picking on folks for wanting a deliberate experience is just gatekeeping by another name.
