My organisation has already moved to source zero products from the US, including technology, and it only took a few weeks.
The hardest problem is Microsoft Office, believe it or not.
That said, France has moved along with the EU to replace it for government (and eventually enterprise) with their own solution. If that happens, the transition for so many people will be much easier.
We work in security, so naturally we’re more than a little sceptical of Chinese hardware. But performance and build wise, Xiaomi et al can more than compete. And if things get REALLY nasty, all those current chip and hardware designs belong to China and Taiwan anyway.
