It seems that some people are discovering now that Mastodon, like any other service built on top of ActivityPub, is based on the idea of servers talking each other, delivering posts for future consumption.

I'm not talking about just notifying new links to content. I'm talking about sending and storing a full copy of a post, persisted on many databases around the world.

As a safety rule, never post on Mastodon anything that you don't want to exist forever in the future.
