First, I configure the reverse proxy to route only my traffic to the secondary (backup) instance. I upgrade it, test it, and check that everything is working fine. If all is good, I update the reverse proxy settings to direct all users to the backup instance, allowing me to stop and upgrade the main one. Once that’s done, I simply restore the default reverse proxy settings, and everything is back to normal.

That said, this process won’t cause any disruption at all 🙂
