I think you may be misunderstanding the utility of a hardware wallet. It exists to generate (and/or store) a private key that is entirely offline: a device that has never been connected to the internet or potential malware.
Think of it as a “signing device” with which you can generate new receiving addresses and authorize transactions. You can (and should) back up your seed phrase in steel, and keep it secure/secret.
Your seed phrase, if you ever wish to transact, will need to be used by wallet software. Either you can type it into a hot wallet (internet connected) or you can use a cold wallet solution like the above.
