There are whole phishing industries in operation, with entire fake departments and even fake police phone numbers you can call or they will transfer you to. Is it really such a profitable crime or is there something else going on? Like when it reaches a fever pitch so the public demands the government to step in and "fix" it with digital ID's? (Which Microsoft and others are currently building under lucrative contracts)
