Mastodon admins are like the (unseen) AV technician who emerges from the half wrecked school/college, gets the electric back on (with an extension cable running into the ceiling grid) and plays "Words and Pictures" on a school VCR and telly to the survivors (I can genuinely believe a 1980s British school VCR/TV combo would at least partly survive the EMP, those setups were carefully selected from the best of available tech and were pretty much made to be bomb-proof)
