There is an idea of a "world-class city" that is defined simply as a city where you don't have to specify the country for people to know it. Like there are many places named New York, but if you say New York people assume you are talking about New York, not one of the other New Yorks.
What's the smallest world-class city by that definition? I used to live in Mojave, and I feel like it must be a similar place that has glommed on to some larger regional name that has existed in popular culture.
