It's not the smartphone itself that's the problem, it's the way most oft the people using it. You can also use this useful tool with your brain without becoming completely dependent. For example when using a de-googled device with software from F-Droid. The problem is addictive apps like Whatsapp, Twitter or Tiktok - they should be avoided. And yeah, reading books is always a good idea ;)
