Why do some video essay youtubers always make those weird videos about explaining the science behind Sci-fi movies/shows and never about Fantasy movies/shows?
"So here in the first movie from the Lord of the Rings trilogy Bilbo drinks tea with Gandalf but tea didn't exist in the Shire at that time, because the climate wouldn't allow tea to grow anywhere in Middle Earth!" sounds equally as crazy as claiming that the science of Dune is or wrong or would be highly improbable to exist in the real world.
No way that a sci-fi novel from the 60s just made scientific stuff up, like it would be SCIENCE FICTION or something!
PS: Same goes for the galaxy brains that explain how the Death Star in Star Wars would be impossible to build on earth, lol
PPS: I know they do it for entertainment reasons and all, I'm not stupid, but my neurospicy brain just goes sdadgafgsffj whenever stuff like that shows up in my yt recommendations
