Has anyone successfully transitioned off glasses?

The whole idea of glasses seems very retarded. Glasses make your vision worse and you keep needing to get stronger prescriptions over time. Your eyes do less work because of the glasses so the muscles get weaker. Shouldn’t the opposite also be true then? If you strengthen your eyes, wouldn’t your vision improve?
