I have several issues with Raspberry Pi, both as a company and their products.
Mutual pin control is really interesting. Linux isn’t realtime, so time sensitive control still needs an MCU which you can’t do with a zero, so you have to add another board.
It also opens up potential for elimination of an entire layer of protocol between the two devices.
Finally, I’m going to assume that the RISC-V board is much more power efficient than a zero + an MCU.
