I feel like every time I see a headline about how #ChatGPT is better at diagnosis than doctors, that just makes me despair at how diagnostic errors are truly underestimated in the medical field.
But instead of trying to figure out how to reduce the rate of diagnostic errors in medicine, technocrats in charge of medical care will keep pushing AI solutions — either on their own (which to me as a disabled person sounds like hell on earth, there is no way that you can spin this that doesn't make me wish for death) or as "assistants" to doctors, which means in the long run doctors will stop learning and thinking critically and will have an even harder time doing a basic function of their job.
The future is so bleak.
